Mokena Junior High School hosted its annual Pink Out games on Tuesday, October 22, in support of breast cancer awareness. This spirited event brought together students, families, and the community to cheer on the girls’ basketball teams as they played in honor of survivors, those currently fighting, and in memory of lives lost to breast cancer.

Throughout the evening, attendees showed their support by purchasing tickets, concessions, and specially-designed Pink Out t-shirts. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the community, almost $1,000 was raised to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation, a national leader in breast cancer research, education, and advocacy.

“The Athletic Boosters was proud to sponsor the second annual Pink Out game. It was inspiring to see so many students and families come out for such a great cause,” said Michelle Lombardo Heikes, President of the Mokena Jr. High Athletic Boosters. “This year, we added a superhero theme to the games. Supporting the fight against breast cancer makes everyone a superhero!”

The success of this year’s Pink Out games reflects Mokena Jr. High’s commitment to fostering a compassionate community dedicated to giving back. We are incredibly proud of our students, families, and local supporters for making a difference through their enthusiasm and contributions.
