Mokena Jr. High Golf Ends on a High Note
The 2023 golf season has come to a close. We had 22 golfers on the team this year and had a new home course out at Green Garden. The golfers have been working hard, practicing and playing since the end of July.
Last week, our golfers represented Mokena Jr. High at the IESA Golf Sectional Meets in Pontiac, IL. We had five boys and one girl participate. The five boys were: Ethan Anderson, Emmett Fitzgibbons, Aidan Egan, Jacob Soldan, and Jacob Labriola. The boys did a nice job representing our school and had a good time on the golf course. Ethan Anderson was our best finisher in 23rd place.
Grace Chandler was our lone girl golfer at the Sectional Meet and she did an amazing job shooting a 93, which was good for 3rd place. Her score also qualified her for the IESA State Golf Meet at Metamora Fields Golf Club in Metamora, IL on September 14th.
At the State Meet, Grace shot her best round of golf this season and ended with an 86. Her 86 placed her 12th at the State Meet out of 77 golfers. We are beyond proud of Grace’s accomplishment! Way to represent the Meteors Grace!
